A Beautiful Sunshine Day On The Susquehanna River 09/02/09

I was able to get out on the Susquehanna River around 8:30 a.m. and fished until 1:00 p.m. Today's weather was very similar to yesterday. However, we started the day yesterday with a very brisk breeze and 46 degrees. Today, fog greeted me at the ramp and the water temperature was a bit warmer... 51 degrees! :D

The fog lifted by 9:30 a.m. and it turned out to be a beautiful blue bird sky. The water temp was 70.8 degrees on the Lowrance which was about 2 degrees warmer than up north.

I was able to catch well over my limit of "0" from yesterday... LOL. I had 15 bass with most measuring in the 13-14" range. A couple of 15" fish came to hand, as well as, one gorgeous 18 1/8th inch smallie that hit a Bandit 200 Series crankbait... Nice!

Look at the shoulders on this one!

As you can tell by the picture, there was brilliant sunshine throughout the day. The air temp hit about 76 degrees before I returned to the ramp.

There were several people along the shoreline looking for eagles and taking photos of the river. The eagles didn't make the scene for them. However, as I was fishing further down the eastern shoreline from the people, one of the immatures lifted off a high branch and flew south along the hillside. Too bad it didn't go north so they would have a photo opp.
