East Cape Guides Fishing Report

From the watery desk of Mark Daugherty

Water conditions are improving with temps increasing into the mid 80s and nice blue water 4-6 miles offshore. This week was consistent again with a variety game fish being landed. Schools of dolphin are still holding tuna offshore with catches ranging from 10-70lbs. We also had a very good bite on smaller tuna up to 45lbs. off of Hotel Spa Buena Vista with limits being caught within an hour or two. Marlin have been consistent with many boats flying one or two release flags per day. Blue marlin are also showing well for this time of year. The counts on dorado are increasing with the warmer water but we're still not see very much size with most fish under 30lbs.

Photos this week are of Steve Jensen of Fountain Valley, CA with 1 of 3 blue marlin landed and released this week and Glen Stanton with a nice yellowfin.

Buena pesca,

Mark
